Aruba Beach
Club announced as Aruba’s 7th
‘Green Globe 21
Certified Resort’
The Aruba Beach Club has recently achieved the prestigious
Green Globe 21 Certification under the worldwide Green Globe
Certification program, which recognizes the operation’s commitment
to operate at the world’s highest environmental standard.
Aruba Beach Club has become the latest property to be
certified in the Caribbean, and the 7th Certified
property here on Aruba.
To have reached this Certification, the Aruba Beach Club has
had to comply with various environmental key requirements, including
the use of water, solid waste management and overall energy
efficiency. Aruba Beach Club has succeeded in reaching Best
Practice results set by Green Globe 21, measured against comparable
operations in the same sector and region. These measures will
deliver ongoing reduction of non-renewable resources, extensive cost
savings and secure a sustainable commercial and ecological future
for ABC.
The Certification was result of a rigorous two-day
evaluation of the Aruba Beach Club by an accredited auditor. With
the successful evaluation result, the Aruba Beach Club has
demonstrated its commitment to the Green Globe 21 standards.
Visitors of ABC can be assured of supporting a resort committed to
implement routines that have the environment in mind. The Aruba
Beach Club has successfully included local suppliers in its efforts,
asking for organic products, bulk packaging, recyclable containers
and more.
In addition to the operational efficiencies, Aruba Beach
Club is well known for its community programs. ABC’s Social Club
“Our Help, Their Hope” was founded to assist local people and
organizations in need.
The Green Globe initiative was first piloted by General
Manager, Martin van Halteren, who comments: “I am very proud and
content with ABC’s achievement of having reached Green Globe 21
Certification. Aruba Beach Club can be an inspiration to all those
who commit themselves to tourism that is environmentally
sustainable. Our employees and organization have demonstrated
through a variety of initiatives that we can make a difference and
diminish the environmental impact of our operations. The commitment
the entire Aruba Beach Club organization has made towards Green
Globe 21 should be an example other organizations should follow”.
The Aruba Beach Club hopes to stimulate, together with other
timeshare resorts and hotels that are Green Globe 21 Certified as
well, other organizations to become environmentally conscious. More
information is available via

resorts on Aruba directly. |
