We are in the process of purchasing a unit at the ABC from an individual owner. We are owners now and all our previous purchases were from ABC. What is the best process to protect both the owner and buyer?

I have emailed ABC to verify ownership but have had no response.

Thanks!

I kept waiting for someone to reply to this but I will attempt an answer. We purchased another week last year and this is how we did it. It is so much easier to do if both parties are at the club at the same time but neither of us were.
First both parties have to fill out and have notarized the "Transfer Agreement". You can download this by going to "Members" at the top of this page and dropping down to "Member's Forms". There you will find the "Transfer Agreement". Once you fill it out and you pay for the week you are buying the owner fills it out and sends the "Transfer Agreement" along with the original Deed and a check for $250. (transfer fee) payable to Aruba Beach Club to Lucille Voss, Aruba Beach Club, PO Box 368, Oranjestad, Aruba, Dutch Caribbean.
Now with that said.... as the buyer you need to email Lucille Voss resales@arubabeachclub.net and confirm that the people you are buying from are the owners of that week and that their maintenance and all owned fees are paid. You will need to decide with your seller who will pay the transfer fee, either the seller, you the buyer or split it. I think that about covers it. If you have anymore questions I will be happy to try and answer and I hope if this is wrong that someone else with chime in.
In our case we were going to Aruba the next month so we took the paperwork and check with us to avoid the high cost of mailing it to Aruba and dropped it off at Ms. Voss office. We were also able to pick up our new Deed and bring it home with us.

Just bumping this up since someone today ask on the ABC Owners Facebook page how to make a private purchase.
