I will keep this month’s update brief as by now you have all received the Fall 2012 Newsletter, also available on Club’s website, which carries a wealth of news and latest updates on the Club from our Board of Directors. First and foremost, to our Members residing in New Jersey, New York and the other states along the Eastern Seaboard, who are suffering the devastation of super storm Sandy, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, your families, your loved ones and neighbors. Mother Nature has shown her power-- We wish you great strength throughout the horrendous clean-up and recovery processes that follow.
Our weather here in Aruba, some much needed rain, a few thundershowers here and there, and mostly occurring during the night-time hours. Our beaches come and go. Chickees have been repaired or replaced as required. Still one month to go till Hurricane season ends December 1st.
ACTIVITIES: Halloween Celebration was a success – The children, the young and not so young, enjoyed the traditional Trick ‘O Treat throughout the Resort shops and offices. I have to say, the costumes this year were the best ever.
Sale of our logo items under the Cayenna Terrace every Friday before the “Bingo”, a 10% discount on all logo items.
RESALES: The Board of Directors has approved for the remainder of our 35th Anniversary Year, to offer all Club owned “Superior low Season” units for a 90 days period starting October 1st until December 31st, 2012 at a reduced price of $2,500.00 per unit/week. Please contact our Resales Coordinator Lucille Voss at 297-582-3000 ext 685 or email email@example.com for further details and/or information. You can also visit our Club’s website http://www.arubabeachclub.net for a list of all units for sale. I recommend you take advantage of this very attractive offer.
HOUSEKEEPING: In order to limit beach towel damage which has increased considerably over the past year, we have instituted a new rule. Guests are requested to check their beach towels as received at the Beach Towel Station, and again, when returning, their beach towels will be checked for damage. The Guest will be charged for any damage to their beach towels.
With the onset of November I wish our American families a Happy Thanksgiving.
And to ALL of you, a very happy Holiday Season. I look forward to meeting you at the regular Tuesday Members Meeting where most recent info will be shared and questions from the floor addressed.
After a lengthy inspection and certification process, Aruba-based Tiara Air has acquired permits to begin operating the Boeing 737-330 jet named Arawak they brought to the island last February. With this 141-seat jet, they will establish regular service to the following gateways:
· Medellin and Armentia, Colombia on October 25, 2012, 2 days a week
· The Dutch island of St. Maarten on November 1, 2012, 2 days a week
· Caracas, Venezuela on November 9, 2012 3 days a week
· Maracaibo, Venezuela on November 13, 2012 2 days a week
· Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 16, 2012, 5 days a week
This is the first of two jets that Tiara Air is scheduled to obtain and have certified for long distance destinations, as part of the agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Tourism in 2011. The second jet is tagged to service a route between Aruba and Boston, among others.
Tiara’s flights are available through most travel agency systems, online and through the tiara-air.com website.
