I am familiar with what CDM has to offer for WiFi (multiple devices for one price). Does ABC offer the same?
Would anyone know if I could access the CDM WiFi from a ABC unit that faces the CDM pool

thanks
Ken

Hey Ken,

The new wi-fi project at ABC started September 25, 2017 and is in the final phase of running throughout the resort and on the beach. However although very close, it is not completed as far as I know. I don't know when you plan to visit ABC so perhaps it will be done when you arrive.

When finished ABC will offer the following wi-fi packages: $10.00 per day, $35.00 per week, $50.00 for 2 weeks or $70.00 for 1 month. You will be able to connect 2 devices with one code, you can add on another device for an additional $10.00, a maximum of 4 devices per unit. You will be able to connect anywhere on premises, be it your room, pool deck or beach. They will still be providing free wi-fi in the lobby and under the Cayenna Terrace.

Currently being offered is the standard one user wi-fi by Setar available in your room for a fee and is being offered for free in Cayenna Terrace and at Ricardo’s Restaurant.

I don’t think you would be able to use the wi-fi offered by CDM at ABC because you need to purchase one of the packages CDM offers and then I doubt it would work as the routers in the CDM units connect to the antennas on their property. I’m no authority by any means but that just seems like the logical answer. If anyone knows to the contrary please reply.

Hope I have helped in some way.

Hi Kandy,

We will be in Aruba this coming Saturday, 12/30. The unit I am renting faces the CDM pool.
This trip I have 4 devices which makes ABC more expensive than CDM and I was hoping
CDM coverage might work. I think when I get setup I will do a WiFi search and if I have
a good signal for CDM I will buy a card there. If not ABC will be my back up and I will have
to try and remember to have only 2 devices connected at the same time.

I have done the WiFi Aruba for many years but their deal is worst with only a single connection.
CDM has the best deal if you can get the coverage.

thanks
Ken

Hi Ken,
Like you, I need wi-fi access all the time for many reason at home or out of the country.

Perhaps after you get there and get settled you can post here how you made out and what your best option was. Hopefully by the time you get there ABC will have their new wi-fi system up and running.

Enjoy your vacation.

I know this is late but CDM WiFi did work out fine from the unit I was using at ABC.
The unit faced CDM/pool. My computer was by the Window and I had no problems accessing
the CDM so I did go with them since it was a better deal.

Out on the deck I at times was able to connect to the CDM lobby too which would
have been free. A few times I connected to Matthews pool bar.

It seems odd to pay for WiFi these days. Maybe just spoiled considering every hotel/motel, resort
back in the States offers free WiFi.
It also seems strange with CDM and ABC sort of being affiliated with each other as far as use
of their grounds, WiFi would have been a similar offer on both sides.

Ken
